Modern Health Pharmacy LDN Program
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN)
What is LDN?
Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) is a safe, well-tolerated, and non-toxic therapy that works by gently modulating the immune system. Unlike standard high-dose naltrexone (typically used for opioid addiction), LDN is prescribed at doses typically ranging from 0.5mg to 4.5mg—about one-tenth or less of the standard dosage. This unique approach allows it to regulate a variety of bodily systems without narcotic effects.
How It Works
LDN temporarily blocks opioid receptors, prompting the body to increase the production of endorphins (your natural feel-good hormones). This “rebound” effect can restore balance to the immune system and reduce chronic inflammation. LDN also interacts with Opioid Growth Factor (OGF) receptors, which are found throughout the body and play a key role in immune function and cell regulation.

Conditions LDN May Help With
LDN is being explored—and in many cases successfully used—for a wide range of chronic and complex conditions. Some of the most common include:

Prostate Cancer
-
Pancreatic and Colorectal Cancers
Thyroid Support
In some patients, LDN has led to improvements in thyroid function, especially in cases of autoimmune thyroiditis when used alongside appropriate thyroid medications.

-
Long COVID
